Much like La Condesa, Roma is one of Mexico City’s most fashionable neighborhoods. Originally a wealthy suburb located southwest of the City Center, the area fell on hard times after the 1985 earthquake. It has since become a trendy cultural haven and home to many creative types.
The area is so large that it is officially broken into two separate parts: Roma Norte to the north, and Roma Sur to the south. It is full of traditional architecture and lush, tree-lined streets.
