During my professional career I had the opportunity to live on 4 continents (Europe, Africa, Asia…and most recently America). My most recent relocation took me from Singapore to New York which must be one of the most difficult relocations to go thru… In Singapore you stay inside to be cool, the weather is always tropical outside. In New York, (most of the year) you want to be inside to stay warm as there are four seasons and it’s just a little bit chilly sometimes! Given this extreme change in lifestyles, I was very fortunate to have Sindi assist me in settling in and finding a new apartment in Manhattan that met all my needs (and did not kill my bank account ?). It was not an easy search though. Sindi and I must have seen 60+ properties in New York which gave me a very good feel for the real estate market in the city. I could not make up my mind whether I wanted to live in Astoria, Long Island City, Harlem or Hell’s Kitchen – where I eventually settled. Sindi did an amazing job in researching the market in great detail, discussing pros and cons of different neighborhoods with me, making sure I am closely connected to public transportation, affordable retailers and bodegas and within walking distance to the office! I was definitely not the easiest client to work with. Thanks to Sindi’s patience, personal connections and excellent knowledge of the real estate market in New York, I eventually found a great “home away from home” in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. She also went the extra mile to assist me in applying for my social security number, NYC ID card, helped me open a bank account and much more. I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Sindi and would recommend her to anyone who needs help to settle down in the city.
